As many of you know, the deadline for transitioning from DSM-IV-TR and ICD-9 to DSM-5 and ICD-10 is October 1, 2015. At BestNotes we want to make this transition as easy as possible and are working with a team of consultants to develop an improved coding workflow that incorporates the DSM-5 and ICD-10 code sets. Organizations using BestNotes will be able to choose a transition date any time between August 1 and October 1, 2014. A training video to help organizations plan the change will be released in late July.
An important note: The APA required BestNotes to sign an updated agreement to transition from distributing the DSM-IV-TR codes and diagnostic criteria to the DSM-5. In the new agreement, the APA significantly increased the fees it charges BestNotes. As a result, a $4.00 per month DSM-5 subscription fee will be charged for each BestNotes user with the permission setting to assign DSM-5 codes to a patient.
Please give our office a call if you have questions. Thanks again for choosing BestNotes. We appreciate your business!
